Documentary filmmakers like you have the talent and the passion to bring purposeful stories to life in a way that inspires action, yet you often have to resort to working on commercial productions to fund your labors of love. In founding Micro-Documentaries, we sought out ways we could support the craft of documentary filmmaking while offering creatively challenging work that was mission-driven. We learned that to do this, we needed to offer opportunities that enabled you to:

- work with extreme autonomy that creates new possibilities for enriching your personal and professional life, vs. draining it.
- focus your energy purposefully to support social and environmental missions that create a better world for all of us.
Extreme autonomy in action
To keep ourselves charged and focused for our clients, our team functions a little differently than most short film production companies out there—or any company for that matter.We have no office, no real office hours, a European-style holiday package and possibilities of sabbatical straight away. This, coupled with doing purposeful work, enables us to attract bright, creative, independent thinkers who are individually driven to perform well.
The only thing that team members are accountable for are their own deliverables. Whether they go hiking in the middle of the day, attend their child’s performance, or take off on a meditation retreat, this freedom enriches their lives in a way that directly translates into customer satisfaction and company growth.
